The UK Government has banned the sale of all new petrol, diesel and hybrid vehicles by 2030 to combat alarming levels of air pollution. In result, more motorists will be considering switching to EV, benefitting from The Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) Government funding and lower fuel costs.
Whilst you can use a regular UK three-pin socket, it is much slower than a dedicated EV Charger and may also involve running charging cables from inside your home. The extension cables should not be used for vehicle charging for safety reasons.
Installing a home EV charging station is perfect for any EV owner looking to invest in future-proofing their home, reduce reliance upon public EV charging stations and maximise the savings that can be achieved from EV ownership. Some solar compatible EV chargers will still use the grid to charge your car when solar energy is not available.
