Solar PV is a popular way to capture solar energy directly from the sun to produce electricity and feed directly into your home consumer unit or storage battery and any surplus is fed to the grid.

Once installed, solar panels require little maintenance. They are generally installed at an angle which allows rainwater to run off freely, washing dirt and dust away.

 

Solar panels are generally good investment for your home. Current trends in the energy market mean that a home with solar panels (if properly marketed with a focus on the fuel savings and tariff payments) could command a higher price in the future than one without.
